Remembering our Truck Drivers
The Victorian Truck Drivers Memorial stands as a testament to the dedication, courage, and sacrifice of the transport industry workers who have lost their lives on our roads. Located in the heart of Alexandra's Rotary Park, this memorial serves as a place of reflection, remembrance, and recognition.
Our Story
Born from a unique partnership in 2013 between GriefWork, Alexandra Events Corporation Ltd, Murrindindi Shire Council, and the local community, the memorial represents our shared commitment to honouring the vital role truck drivers play in Australian life.
What began as a grassroots community initiative has grown into Victoria's premier tribute to fallen transport workers, offering families and friends a dedicated space to remember their loved ones.
What We Do
Our purpose is to maintain the Memorial Wall as a place of reflection by overseeing and managing the addition of plaques and the maintenance and upkeep of the Memorial Wall, together with the conduct of the Annual Remembrance Service and its associated activities.
The Memorial
The memorial wall features the names of Victorian truck drivers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Each name represents a story, a family, and a life dedicated to keeping Australia moving.
Designed with quiet contemplation in mind, the surrounding gardens offer a peaceful setting for reflection, while the annual memorial service brings together families, friends, and industry members in a touching tribute to those we've lost.
The Annual Memorial Service
Each June, we gather to remember those who've given their lives in service of Australia's transport industry. The Annual Memorial Service is our most significant annual event - a time for families, friends, and industry members to come together in remembrance and support.

The Current Committee
We are fortunate to have a voluntary Committee who are passionate about the Victorian Truck Drivers Memorial. They are responsible for providing good governance of our association and are the stewards of The Wall and the Annual Memorial Service.
